360 Elementary School
FIRE CASE STUDY
WHAT
HAPPENED?
A fire on the roof severely damaged the PVC roof membrane and ISOboard insulation, resulting in extensive smoke damage throughout the gym, cafeteria, several classrooms, and hallways.
The firefighting efforts introduced water into the building, which infiltrated multiple electrical panels and affected areas including the gym, cafeteria, music room, and several classrooms.
Challenges
- Band equipment was left sitting in standing water.
- With no electrical power due to the ongoing investigation, generators had to be brought in.
- Our team had to work with speed and precision to ensure the school could open on time without any delays.
- Securing permits in a timely manner was critical.
- A truck carrying ceiling tiles broke down in Milwaukee, requiring us to bring in subcontractors to stay on schedule.

What We Did
The first step 360 Fire & Flood took was to extract the water, relocate contents such as band equipment, and perform selective demolition of affected materials. Temporary electrical systems were set up to provide lighting, power equipment, and operate HEPA filtration units. To prevent further damage, a shed roof was built. Next, we conducted a thorough top-to-bottom cleaning of all fire- and water-impacted areas, including the gym, cafeteria, classrooms, and hallways. Finally, we replaced 1,182 ceiling tiles, all completed within just three weeks.
